October 2026 Workshops
Paper Weaving Workshop
With Artist Susan Harris
DATE: Saturday, October 24
TIME: 10AM–2PM
NOTE: Snacks will be provided.
Using random and assorted paper and materials you will create your one of a kind “weaving.” You will learn basic techniques and then be let loose to explore, experiment, and play. You will leave the class with your creation(s) mounted on a canvas or card and a sense of great delight!
No previous art experience needed. All materials provided.
Bring scissors and any special papers you may want to use in your project.
Open to artists and non-artists!
Min. 6, Max 12 students
COST: $65 (includes supplies!)
Susan Harris is a local artist, working primarily as a painter. She has recently taken up Paper Weaving. Susan relocated to Yakima 13 years ago where she found the most supportive and vibrant art community. She is involved with the Boxx Gallery as a volunteer and also serves on the Larson Gallery Guild board.

Create an Autumn
Wreath Workshop
With Artist Carol Barany
DATE: Saturday, November 7
TIME: 10–11:30AM
Carol Barany has been a master gardener since 2007. She leaves the growing of the edibles to her husband and prefers to grow flowers for bouquets. But when the flowers run out at the first frost, there is just as much beauty to be found in the native plants of our majestic shrub-steppe. In this class, you’ll use dried natural materials to decorate an 18″ grapevine wreath. If you have something special you would like to use on your wreath, bring it. Otherwise, all materials are provided.
No previous experience needed.
All supplies included:
Grapevine wreath
Feathers
Dried weeds, thistles, hydrangeas
Seed pods and nuts
NOTE: Bring a pair of pruners or snips if you have them.
